Principled Voting

Yesterday, November 4th, was my first chance to vote, having turned 18 in September.

I did not vote for Obama/Biden. I did not vote for McCain/Palin.

As a Christian, I took my decision to vote for a presidential candidate very seriously.   I purposed to have my decision be based on faith in God rather than on fear that someone evil would get into office.  I voted for the man who best met the biblical qualifications for civil office. (See Exodus 18:21; Deuteronomy 1:13.)  I voted knowing that ultimately I was not in control of who gets into power; God is sovereign.

It is the day after elections and Obama seems to have won, but do not fear, for the LORD is in control of all circumstances.  "Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously." Psalms 96:10
